#101: Dominating The Market Place

Hi there, Rebeliever! I recently had a conversation that often raises eyebrows with my favorite person: Most of the times Christians who seek entrepenurial success are deeemed to not be serious with the work of God but hold on, we’re not talking about cutthroat competition or underhanded tactics. We’re diving into how, as Christians, we can make a positive impact, excel in our fields, and yes, even dominate the marketplace with integrity. Help me think

Business with a Kingdom Mindset: More Than Just Profits

In the hustle and bustle of the marketplace, it’s easy to get caught up in the rat race for profits and success. But what if, as Christian entrepreneurs, we approached business with a kingdom mindset? That means aligning our business practices with biblical principles, prioritizing people over profit, and recognizing that our work ( an act of service ) is a form of worship.

Integrity Over Shortcuts: Building Trust for the Long Haul

Sure, shortcuts might promise quick wins, but recognizing we’re called to a higher standard—fulfilling an assignment in different industries. Building a business on a foundation of honesty, transparency, and ethical practices isn’t just the right thing to do; it’s a strategy for long-term success. Trust is the currency of the marketplace, and nothing builds trust like a business that operates with unwavering integrity.

Excellence as Worship: Bringing Your A-Game to the Table

As Christians dominating the marketplace, our work is an extension of our worship. Colossians 3:23 encourages us to work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. This means bringing our A-game, pursuing excellence, and constantly seeking ways to improve and innovate. Whether you’re selling products, offering services, or creating art, let your work reflect the excellence of the God you serve.

A good example of the only man who has been described to be of excellence and we can tell the fruits of his integrity is Daniel. In a world that often glorifies power and dominance, the concept of servant leadership might seem counterintuitive. However, it’s precisely this upside-down approach that can set Christian entrepreneurs apart. Jesus himself modeled servant leadership, washing the feet of his disciples. Leading in the fruit of the Holy Spirit gives us a headstart in our approach as people often remember experiences that the transaction.

Making a Difference Beyond Profits: Kingdom Connections

In Genesis 1:27, we’re reminded that we are created in the image of God. Now, let that sink in for a moment. The Creator of the universe fashioned us in His likeness, endowing us with the capacity for creativity and innovation. Just as God spoke the world into existence, we, too, have the power to bring to life innovative business ideas and endeavors. Consider aligning your business with a larger purpose, whether it’s supporting a social cause, promoting environmental sustainability, or contributing to community development. Purpose-driven entrepreneurship not only makes a positive impact but also resonates with consumers who increasingly seek brands with a mission.

The marketplace can sometimes feel like a battlefield, with businesses vying for the top spot. However, we’re called to a different approach—collaboration over competition in order to bring the aspect of oneness in the body of Christ. Seek opportunities to collaborate with other businesses, support fellow entrepreneurs, and foster a sense of community within your industry. Kingdom connections can open doors and create a thriving ecosystem where everyone can succeed.

Our Advantage in the Marketplace

Now, here’s where the game-changer comes in. As Christians in the marketplace, we have an undeniable advantage—the Holy Spirit. In John 14:16-17, Jesus promises the Holy Spirit as our Helper, saying, “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.” This divine Helper guides us, provides wisdom, and empowers our endeavors. God always backs up everything He gives to us. You’ll have to sharpen your relationship with the Holy Spirit to be able to hear Him when He speaks or directs you to you next step in your business.

In Conclusion: You Are Not Ordinary

Proverbs 16:9 reminds us that we can make our plans, but it is the Lord who directs our steps. Set ambitious goals, but remain open to God’s leading. Allow Him to shape your business journey, trusting that His plans are far greater than anything we could imagine.

So, as you venture into the marketplace, remember this: you are not an ordinary entrepreneur or professional. You are a child of the Most High God, endowed with His creativity, operating in the authority of Jesus’ name, and guided by the Holy Spirit. This isn’t just an advantage; it’s a divine empowerment that positions you for success beyond worldly measures. Embrace it, trust it, and watch as God’s favor unfolds in your business endeavors.

May your journey in the marketplace be marked by creativity, authority, and the undeniable advantage that comes from partnering with the Creator of all things and the Holy Spirit as your guide.
